Entertainment director, Cheryl picked "Almost Famous" at the Parma Tavern.
So off we went.
Almost Famous is an entertaining concept band. They're WELL REHEARSED and tight as any band we've seen. They involve
the crowd in their own form of controlled mayhem and are professional in every fashion of the word. They don't get trashed
while they play - like some others we've seen. They keep the crowd dancing and play a variety of songs. Cheryl really liked
them. I thought they were OK. Two things to me were drawbacks. If I hear a keyboard playing, I would at least like to see
someone playing it - and not a previously recorded computer facsimile. Both Cheryl and I agreed that certain "elements" in
the crowd created a major drawback that is continually seen at this venue. We will probably re-visit Almost Famous again -
but at a more suitable location.
By the way - they Dress Up in Character! My back was hurting, so I didn't shoot photos from all over. Although, I took about
100 shots, they were all from the same general area. Once what little there was of a dance floor filled up, movement around
the area became impossible. So I stayed insignificant, while their rather rabid fan base snapped flash after flash from the
dance floor. Once again, without any specific light show to shoot without the flash, the photos sometimes blur.

Maybe it was just the fuzzy chin and long hair - but the lead singer reminded me of my son Butterz
